HomeMy WebLinkAboutJPMC MAY 14, 2019 JEFFERSONVILLE POLICE MERIT COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING MAY 14, 2019 The Jeffersonville Police Merit Commission meeting was called to order on May 14, 2019 at 5:00 P.M. in the City Council Chambers, First Floor, 500 Quartermaster Court,Jeffersonville, Indiana. President Jeremy Snelling called the meeting to order with the following in attendance: President Jeremy Snelling,Vice-President Robert Campbell, bonnie Deppert, Scott Aldridge, Buddy Parker, Attorney Robert Bottorff and Patty Rush. Invocation was given by Vice-President Campbell. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: President Snelling presented the minutes from April 9, 2019 meeting, asking if there were any additions or corrections. Mr. Parker made a motion to approve the minutes as presented and seconded by Mr. Campbell. Voted 5-0 OLD BUSINESS: The Commission discussed testing and interviews for new candidates. The Commission will confer with IPSP in regard to questions and dates for interviews. The advertisement will expire on May 17th and all applications should be in at that time. NEW BUSINESS: Assistant Chief McVoy addressed the Commission with a letter from Chief Kavanaugh requesting to receive the names of candidate's number 7 and 8 on the certified experienced applicant hiring list for the positions of Police Officers. Number 7 was Brenden Kaiser and number 8 was Ryan Ware. Ms. Deppert made a motion to approve number 7 candidate Brenden Kaiser and seconded by Mr. Parker. Voted 5-0 Ms. Deppert made a motion to approve number 8 candidate Ryan Ware and seconded by Mr. Aldridge. Voted 5-0 PUBLIC COMMENTS: None CLAIMS: President Snelling presented a claim from Patty Rush, Invoice 2019-05 in the amount of$100.00. Mr. Campbell made a motion to approve the claim in the amount of$100.00 and seconded by Mr. Aldridge. Voted 5-0 President Snelling presented a claim from Bob Bottorff Law PC, Invoice#00352 in the amount of $1,740.00 for the months of January, February, March and April 2019.
