HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC APRIL 22, 2019 WORKSHOP COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA April 22, 2019 The Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana met in Special Meeting in Room 101, 500 Quartermaster Court,Jeffersonville, Indiana at 4:00 pm, on Monday, April 22, 2019. Council Vice President Lisa Gill along with City Clerk Conlin called the meeting to order at 4:02 pm. Councilperson Ellis gave the invocation. Council Vice President Lisa Gill asked those in attendance to stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance. ROLL CALL:The roll call was conducted and those present were Councilperson White, Councilperson Maples, Councilperson Hawkins, Councilperson Ellis, Councilperson Samuel and Council Vice President Gill APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA: Councilperson Samuel made a motion to APPROVE the agenda with Councilperson Maples seconding, PASSING on a vote, 6-0. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: 1. Ed Zastawny/Larry Wilder—2019-OR-14 An Ordinance Repealing and Replacing 2012-OR-47 For Purpose of Establishing Fair Housing Policies in Compliance with State and Federal Law— Councilperson Samuel asked what changed. There are 4 lines in this that changed and this brings us up to compliance with Federal and State regulations. Councilperson Ellis stated after looking over this it is noted in here the "town of Americana" instead of Jeffersonville. This is why he does not like to suspend the rules and likes to take time to look over these things because this would have been missed otherwise. Councilperson White made a motion AMENDING the document to reflect where it is stated the Town of Americana it will read the City of Jeffersonville with Councilperson Maples seconding, PASSING on a vote, 6-0. Councilperson White made a motion to APPROVE the amended version on the third and final reading with Councilperson Maples seconding, PASSING on a vote, 6-0. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Ed Zastawny/Dawn Spyker—2019-R-3 Resolution Supporting Application for Funding From Clark-Floyd Counties Convention &Tourism Bureau for the Arts and Cultural District Project— Delynn Rutherford presented 2019-OR-3. This is to apply for the grant for an additional $1,000,000 for NoCo. It will not completely fund it but it will come close. Councilperson Samuel made a motion to APPROVE 2019-R-3 with Councilperson Ellis seconding, PASSING on a vote, 6- 0. COUNCIL COMMENT: Councilperson White—Nothing at this time Councilperson Maples—Nothing at this time Councilperson Hawkins—Nothing at this time Councilperson Ellis—Nothing at this time Councilperson Samuel—Good catch to Councilperson Ellis for 2019-OR-14. Council Vice President Gill—Nothing at this time. ADJOURNMENT: Councilperson Samuel made the motion to ADJOURN and the meeting adjourned at 4:08 P.M.
