Indiana 47130 Jeffersonville Police Merit Commission 500 Quartermaster Ct Jeffersonville IN February 27, 2019 Ladies and Gentlemen, This correspondence is in reference to Probationary Officer Scott A Schuchardt. Probationary Officer Schuchardt who is currently working in his probationary phase of the Field Training Officer Program. Probationary Officer Schuchardt is currently in the second phase of the field training program. During this time Probationary Officer Schuchardt has been recommended for remedial training and has completed the remedial training phase as recommended by the Field Training Program. Probationary Officer Schuchardt has failed to successfully complete the regular and remedial (Phase 2 Extension) portions of phase 2 probationary field training program. Upon recommendation from the Field Training Commander, Major Joshua Lynch please see the attached specific documentation regarding the Phase 2 Extension and the documented deficiencies listed by the Field Training Commander. Pursuant to Merit Commission rules, I am making the recommendation to not extend a permanent employment. Probationary Schuchardt as all training measures have been exhausted, there are no further corrective measure within our FTO program. By rule the merit commission is to notify Probationary Officer Schuchardt that he is not being permanently appointed as a Jeffersonville Police Officer. Currently Probationary Schuchardt is on paid administrative leave pending notification to him by the police merit commission. I appreciate your time and service to the Jeffersonville Police Department in this matter and your recognition of this matter which serves in the best interest of the City of Jeffersonville, our citizens, and the Jeffersonville Police Department. Borden, IN 47106 RE: Department Status Notification Probationary Patrolman Schuchardt, The intent of this correspondence is to officially notify you of your status with the agency.At this time you are relieved from active duty within the uniform division and placed on paid administrative leave. Probationary Patrolman Schuchardt you are hereby directed not to take any police officer related duty action having your police powers suspended by administration on February 27, 2019. Furthermore, the assigned police vehicle, duty weapon and numerous other items that are property of the Jeffersonville Police Department issued are to be surrendered to Major Hubbard on this date.The police department property will be inventoried by Major Hubbard. The aforementioned action is a result of your failure to successfully complete the Jeffersonville Police Department Field Training Officer Program as required to be permanently appointed as a Jeffersonville Police Officer.There are no further corrective measures within the Field Training Officer Program.
