INTRODUCTION
UNFURLING, JEFFERSONVILLE PUBLIC ART PROGRAM’S theme
for 2019, is a rich descriptor for our place in public art at this time. Six
years ago, the seeds of our creative movement were planted in the rich
soil of this community. Countless individuals, departments, and
organizations have come together over the past six years to help
nurture our community’s creative growth. It is with hopeful hearts and
helpful hands that we witness and help sustain the creative potential
that is UNFURLING before our eyes in 2019 and beyond! Stay the
course Jeffersonville and tend to the UNFURLING creativity within!

JEFFERSONVILLE PUBLIC ART COMMISSION
Holds the belief that the site-specific artworks and cultural
experiences to be implemented this year will identify Jeffersonville
as a place with ingenuity and a great capacity for innovation.
These artworks, both permanent and temporary, will range from
traditional to new media. It is the conviction of the Jeffersonville
Art Commission that, in order to support a thriving artistic
consciousness within the city, community involvement shall extend
beyond everyday appreciation to meaningful engagement in the
creation, evolving interpretation and ongoing care of artworks
throughout Jeffersonville.
