HomeMy WebLinkAboutBPW DECEMBER 5, 2018 CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS MINUTES December 5, 2018 MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mike Moore, Rob Waiz Redevelopment Director, Len Ashack Dir of Waste Water, Clark Miles Street Commissioner, Mary Frey Adm Asst Building Commission, Matt Dyer IT Director, Sarah Green Animal Shelter Director, Heather Metcalf Controller, Nathan Pruitt Planning and Zoning Director, Paul Northam Parks Director, Bill Dixon Asst City Engineer, Kenny Kavanaugh Chief JPD, Les Merkley Corporate Counsel, Kim Calabro HR Director, Bruce DeArk JFD Deputy Chief, Elisha Gibson Utility Billing Manager,Amy Huffman Community Liaison,Amir Mousavi Safety Director, Michael O'Brien Dir of Vehicle Maintenance, Christy O'Neil Executive Assistant Mayor,Andy Crouch City Engineer, Shawn Grant Assist Chief JFD, DeLynn Rutherford Grant Administrator CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Mr. Waiz made the motion to APPROVE the minutes from November 28, 2018, seconded by Mr. Dixon, and motion passed 3-0. APPROVAL OF THE PAYROLL: Mr. Waiz made the motion to APPROVE the payroll, seconded by Mr. Dixon, and motion passes 3-0. OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: Clark Miles-Request for approval of speed limit signs on Allison Lane (requested by Jeff Police Department). Mr. Miles stated three 30 mph signs will be places on Allison Lane at Beachwood, Wildwood and near the former Dollar General Store. Mr. Waiz made the motion to approve the new signs placement, seconded by Mr. Dixon and motion passes 3-0. Joe Anderson/Chris Jackson with Dan Cristiani Excavating-Update of road closure on Utica Sellersburg Road at the intersection of Highway 62 near the old location of Cunningham Campers. Mr. Anderson stated that they need to move the road closure to the approved alternate date (December 14) due to a conflict with their schedule. No action necessary. December 5, 2018 -Jeffersonville Board of Public Works- Page 1 of 2 Joe Anderson with Dan Cristiani Excavating-Request for approval of rotating lane closures on Dutch Lane during the warranty paving repair on Dutch Lane. Mr. Anderson indicated that this closure is necessary to correct the water main from last year. They will be rotating lanes on Dutch Lane behind the Census Bureau on December 6th and 7th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. between Jefferson and Whelan. Police Department approved. A motion was made by Mr. Dixon for the rotating lane closure, seconded by Mr. Waiz and motion passes 3-0. Shawn Grant-Request for approval of contract between Fire Department and Global Emergency products for the purchase of new fire truck. Asst JFD Chief Grant presented the contract for a new apparatus. A motion was made by Mr. Dixon to approve the contract, seconded by Mr. Waiz, and motion passes 3-0. Scott McVoy- Presentation of an updated policy to the Police Department manual. Asst Chief JPD McVoy presented a copy of the policy. Mr. Waiz made the motion to approve the updated Police Department manual, motion seconded by Mr. Dixon and passed 3-0.
