SPECIAL MEETING
NOVEMBER 16, 2018
The Jeffersonville Police Merit Commission Special Meeting was held on November 13, 2018 at
5:00 P.M. at Attorney Robert Bottorff's office, Court Avenue,Jeffersonville, Indiana.Those in attendance
were President Jeremy Snelling, Vice-President Robert Campbell, Bonnie Deppert, Scott Aldridge,
Attorney Robert Bottorff,Captain Joe Hubbard and Patty Rush. Absent was Buddy Parker.
The Special Meeting was regarding discussion of Amendment No. 2012-01 which is an
Amendment of the Jeffersonville Police Merit Commission Rules and Procedures, Removing And
Amending Language To Rule & Procedure#6, Entitled "Promotion Within The Police Department".
After discussion with Attorney Bottorff regarding the Promotion Eligibility List and other issues
that pertains to all ranks within the department the rules will stay as they were in the past years for
promotions. The Commission will review the overall performance and see what will need to be changed
for the future. As of now, it will stay as it was before and go ahead with what has been in place for
promotions.
Mr. Aldridge rescinded the motion from our last meeting. The motion was to approve the
proposed information Booklet for Sergeants/Corporal Promotion and the Lieutenant/Captain Promotion
process. This would include the current City of Jeffersonville Police Department Performance Evaluation
Process that has been in use for the last 2 years, and will count as 25%for the total cumulative score of
the performance ratings. Motion was seconded by President Snelling. Voted 4-0
ADJORNMENT:
Vice-President Campbell made a motion to adjourn the Special Meeting at 5:30 P.M. and
seconded by Mr. Aldridge. Voted 4-0
