HomeMy WebLinkAboutBPW NOVEMBER 7, 2018 CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS MINUTES November 7,2018 MEMBERS PRESENT: Mike Moore, Mayor, Len Ashack, Dir of Waste Water,Andy Crouch,City Engineer, Clark Miles, Director Street Dept, Larry Wallace, Building Commission, Matt Dyer, IT Director, Bruce DeArk,Assist Chief JFD, Rob Waiz, Redevelopment Director,Sarah Green,Animal Shelter Director,Alana Sparkman, Finance Adm Asst II, Nathan Pruitt, Planning and Zoning Director, Paul Northam, Park Director, DeLynn Rutherford,Grant Administrator,Bill Dixon,Asst City Engineer,Shawn Grant,Assist Chief JFD,Scott McVoy,Asst Chief JPD, Les Merkley,Corporate Counsel, Christy O'Neil, Ex Asst Mayor,Connie Conen, HR Adm Asst I, Mike O'Brien, Dir of Vehicle Maintenance,Amy Huffman, Community Liaison, Dawn Spyker, Public Art Administrator CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Mr. Waiz made the motion to APPROVE the minutes from the October 31, 2018 meeting, seconded by Mr. Crouch, motion PASSED 3-0. APPROVAL OF THE PAYROLL: Mr. Waiz made the motion to APPROVE the payroll, seconded by Mr. Crouch, and motion PASSED 3-0. OLD BUSINESS: Clark Miles-Awarding of Bid for a Rear Load Refuse Body Garbage Packer to Best Equipment Mr. Miles indicated that the bid be awarded to Best Equipment. Mr. Merkley indicated all specification were in order. Mr. Waiz made the motion to award the bid to Best Equipment for the packer, seconded by Mr. Crouch; and motion passes 3-0. NEW BUSINESS: Dawn Spyker-Request for approval of contract between City and Owens and Crawley for Riverfront Interpretive Sculpture Project 2018/2019 Ms. Spyker indicated this contract would start in the fall with installation in the spring. Funding is in the budget. Mr. Crouch made the motion to approve the contract, seconded by Mr. Waiz, and motion passes 3-0. Jason Sams with ARC—Request for approval of Horner Novelty Encroachment Agreement Mr. Sams was present to explain while researching the Horner Novelty property purchase they learned encroachment has occurred. Mr. Crouch indicated that this was probably due on the original foundation. Mr. Waiz made the motion to approve this encroachment agreement, seconded by Mr. Crouch and motion passes 3-0. November 7, 2018-Jeffersonville Board of Public Works-Page 1 of 2 Joe Wood with Dan Cristiani Excavating—Update on closure needed on Orchard Hills Drive as part of the Villas of Jeffersonville project. Mr. Wood indicated that this is a change of dates for the road closure. Mayor Moore requested that he push the time to 9 a.m.—5 p.m. to help with morning traffic. Mr. Crouch made the motion to approve the change of dates/time, seconded by Mr. Waiz, and motion pas d 3-0.
