HomeMy WebLinkAboutBPW NOVEMBER 14, 2018 CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS MINUTES November 14, 2018 MEMBERS PRESENT: Rob Waiz, Redevelopment Director, Len Ashack, Dir of Waste Water,Andy Crouch, City Engineer, Clark Miles, Director Street Dept, Larry Wallace, Building Commission, Matt Dyer, IT Director, Bruce DeArk,Assist ChiefJFD, Kristie Ashcraft,Adm Asst, Heather Metcalf, Controller, Nathan Pruitt, Planning and Zoning Director, Paul Northam, Park Director, Delynn Rutherford,Grant Administrator, Bill Dixon, Asst City Engineer,Scott McVoy,Asst Chief JPD, Les Merkley, Corporate Counsel, Kim Calabro, HR Director, Mike O'Brien, Dir of Vehicle Maintenance CALL TO ORDER: Mr. Waiz called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. APPROVAL OF THE PAYROLL: Mr. Miles made the motion to APPROVE the payroll, seconded by Mr. Crouch, and motion PASSED 3-0. OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: Nathan Pruitt-Bid Opening for Chapel Lake Park Construction Bid date postponed to November 28. Scott McVoy-Request for approval of contract between the Jeffersonville Police Department SWAT and Norse Tactical for tactical training sustainment package Officer McVoy presented the contract for 2019 training and stated funds are in the budget. Mr. Crouch made the motion to approve this contract, seconded by Mr. Miles and motion passes 3-0. Richard Moore with R.W. Moore Consulting Engineers-Request for approval to vacate right of ways at Water Tower Square, Missouri and Court Avenue at 3`d, 4th and 5th Streets Mr. Moore presented several historical maps with the streets to vacate—which indicated that these streets had been vacated year ago. Mr. Merkley and Mr. Crouch both agreed that this is probably correct but no documentation has been found to verify. Mr. Crouch made the motion to send a favorable recommendation to Council for this request; seconded by Mr. Miles and motion passed 3-0. Andy Crouch—Request for approval to place a four(4) way stop at Park Place and Main Street Mr. Crouch stated that a recent accident brought attention to the intersection at Park Place (boulevard park area). This intersection has had 8 accidents in the last 3 years. Police have reviewed the November 14, 2018-Jeffersonville Board of Public Works- Page 1 of 2 area and are in favor of additional stop signs. Mr. Miles made the motion to approve the additional stop signs; seconded by Mr. Crouch and motion passes 3-0.
