MINUTES
August 22, 2018

CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 9:31 am
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES:
Mr. Hedrick made the motion to approve the minutes from the August 15, 2018 meeting,
seconded by Mr. Waiz, motion passed 3-0.
APPROVAL OF THE PAYROLL:
Mr. Waiz made the motion to approve the payroll, seconded by Mr. Hedrick, motion passed 3-0.
OLD BUSINESS:
None
NEW BUSINESS:
Amir Mousavi- Request for approval of Annual Preventive Maintenance Inspection Agreement
(re: Outdoor Warning Siren). Mr. Mousavi stated we have 11 weather sirens in City limits for this
inspection and we have funds in the budget. Mayor Moore questioned if this is enough. Mr. Mousavi said
there are gaps between the county and city. Recommendation is 38 units, currently there are 21 with River
Ridge not covered. Mayor stated he thought the Bales Foundation purchase these years ago at $20,000.
Mr. Mousavi said they are now$26,000. Mr. Mousavi stated it is the County's job to purchase the 10-15
needed, but feels they will not have the budget. There is some discussion to partner with River Ridge for
their coverage. Mr. Hedrick made a motion to approval; Mr. Waiz seconded the motion, and motion
passes 3-0.
Len Ashack—request for approval of road closures as follows:
1. Market Street at Main Street for one day on August 27, 2018 from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm for
replacement of the sewer on Main at Market.

2. Main Street from High Street to Market Street from August 27, 2018 through September 1,
2018 for sewer replacement.
Mr. Waiz made a motion to approval street closures; Mr. Hedrick seconded the motion, and motion
passes 3-0.
ADJOURNMENT:
With no further business for the Board of Public Works, Mr. Hed ick made the motion to
ADJOURN. Meeting adjourned at 9:34 am.
