FIRE MERIT COMMISSION
The Jeffersonville Fire Merit Commission held a Special Meeting on
Monday, June 25, 2018 at 5:30 in the Human Resources Office,
Jeffersonville, IN.
Kent Monohan — President
Patricia Barrow— Vice President
Jeff Frey— Secretary
Bernie Horvath — Board Member
Thomas Spalding — Board Member
Connie Conen — Recording Secretary
Nathan Masingo — Lawyer
Ms. Barrow was absent
A special meeting was held to answer some outstanding questions regarding
the written Fire Fighter Test.
Many of the applicants who are not moving forward due to their test scores
have asked for their test scores — The Commissioners agreed that Ms. Conen
could give out that information.
Amy Emerson, IPSP sent the Commission President the FF Written Test
Scores and explained that the average test score was 78.455 so any applicant
with that score or higher could move forward to Oral Interviews. This
would be a total of 75 applicants. 5 of those applicants received a reduced
test score due to not attaching the required educational proof; 1 applicant
was denied due to age. The Commissioners then agreed to use a test score
of 85.950 for the cutoff which moved 29 applicants forward to Oral
Interviews.
Ms. Conen emailed all of the "denied" applicants a notice. IPSP sent Ms.
Conen an interview schedule who in turn called each applicant for an
interview time and then sent each a confirmation email with additional
interview information.
Oral interviews will be held on July 18, 2018 from 9:45AM — 3:45PM. All
Commissioners will need to be part of the 2 interview boards.

July 5, 2018 - 5:30 Executive, 6:00 for the Open Meeting.
