SANITARY SEWER BOARD
MINUTES OF MAY 3, 2018
The Sanitary Sewer Board of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana met in regular
session on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 3:00 P.M in the City Hall Mayor's Conference Room.
Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 3:00 P.M. Board Members present are Mike
Moore, Bill Saegesser and Dale Orem. Also present are Utility Director Len Ashack,
Board Attorney Mike Gillenwater, Utility Billing Office Manager Elisha Gibson, Controller
Heather Metcalf, City Councilperson Lisa Gill, Josh Darby representing Jacobi, Toombs,
and Lanz, Adam Dickey representing HMB Engineers, and Secretary Barbara Hollis.
Board Member Saegesser made the motion to approve the revised agenda as
presented, second by Board Member Orem, passing on a vote of 3-0.
The minutes of the April 19, 2018 meeting were presented for approval. Board
Member Saegesser, made the motion to approve the minutes as presented, second by
Board Member Orem, passing on a vote of 3-0.
CONTROLLER'S REPORT
Controller Metcalf presented the claim list dated May 3, 2018 in the amount of
$918,207.32. Board Member Orem, noted a large about of the total is for debt payment.
Board Member Saegesser made the motion to approve the claim list as presented,
second by Board Member Orem, passing on a vote of 3-0.
Manager Gibson presented the Adjustment Certificate dated April 30, 2018 in the
amount of $-17,173.74 Sewage, $-403.98 Drainage, and a refund of $477.65. Board
Member Orem continues to be amazed at the amount of leaks. Board Member Orem,
made the motion to approve the Certificate as presented, second by Board Member
Saegesser, passing on a vote of 3-0.
OLD BUSINESS
Board Member Orem made the motion to table action regarding the purchase of
the property for the Liters Lift Station Easement, second by Board Member Saegesser,
passing on a vote of 3-0.
NEW BUSINESS
Director Ashack reviewed the changes made to the Construction Standards. Most
changes are minor except for the retail calculations. Following review, Board Member
Orem made the motion to approve the changes as presented, second by Board Member
Saegesser, passing on a vote of 3-0.

ENGINEERING REPORTS
Josh Darby presented and reviewed Jacobi, Toombs & Lanz, Inc., Jeffersonville
Sanitary Sewer Projects Status Report, May 3, 2018.
Board Member Saegesser asked when the pilot test is scheduled to begin.
Director Ashack answered it is scheduled to begin on Monday.
DEPARTMENT REPORT
With regard to the April 20, 2018 DOJ/EPA/IDEM visit questions, Director Ashack
said the draft should be done by the end of the day tomorrow or early Monday. He will
have answers by the 7th. The CSO Report and WWTP Flow reports are provided. The
CSO-DMR is almost finished.
ATTORNEY COMMENTS - No Comments
BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS
Board Member Saegesser said he will not be in attendance for the next meeting.
Board Attorney Gillenwater will not be in attendance for the June 7 meeting.
