HomeMy WebLinkAboutMAY 2, 2018 CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS May 2, 2018 MEMBERS PRESENT: Mike Moore, Mayor, Matt Owen, Councilperson at-Large, Rob Waiz, Redevelopment Director, Eric Hedrick, Chief JFD, Andy Crouch, City Engineer, Sarah Green, Animal Shelter Director, Clark Miles, Street Commissioner, Christy O'Neil, Executive Admin Asst to Mayor, Nathan Pruitt, Director of Planning & Zoning, Elisha Gibson, Utility Billing Manager, Peggy Hardaway, City Clerk Admin Asst, Len Ashack, Director of Waste Water, Phil Caldwell, Director of Vehicle Maintenance, Matt Dyer, IT Director, Les Merkley, Corporate Counsel, Delynn Rutherford, Grant Administrator, Bruce DeArk, Asst Chief JFD, Bill Dixon, Asst City Engineer, Scott McVoy, Asst ChiefJPD, Heather Metcalf, Controller, Larry Wallace, Building Commissioner, Amy Huffman, Community Liaison, Kim Calabro, HR Director, Paul Northam, Parks Superintendent,Justin Ames,JFD CALL TO ORDER: Mr. Moore called the meeting to order at 9:30 am APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Mr. Owen made the motion to APPROVE the minutes from the April 25, 2018 meeting, seconded by Mr. Waiz, PASSING on a vote 3-0. APPROVAL OF THE PAYROLL: Mr. Owen made the motion to APPROVE the payroll, seconded by Mr. Waiz, PASSING on a vote of 3-0. OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: 1. Andy Crouch - Request for approval to authorize JTL to make offers in the listed amounts to the property owners of New Chapel Sidewalk Phase 2— Easement Appraisal. Mr. Waiz made the motion to APPROVE, seconded by Mr. Owen, PASSING 3-0. 2. Eric Plaiss with JTL& Clark Miles— Discussion and Awarding of the 2018 milling, paving, base repair and patching of various city streets project. Mr. Plaiss reported that MAC Construction has the lowest bid at $1,338,743.00 and that JTL reviewed all documents and everything is in order and is contingent pending Street Department and Legal approval. Mr. Waiz made a motion to accept document PENDING Street Department and Legal approval, seconded by Mr. Owen, PASSING 3-0. ADDITIONAL BUSINESS: 1 1. Paul Northam— Mr. Northam reported that two more events were approved for the Big 4 Park. June 9—Brooklyn's Bridge Walk and September 8 — Back Your Blue 5K. Mr. Waiz made a motion to APPROVE, seconded by Mr. Owen, PASSING 3-0. ADJOURNMENT: With no further action for the Board of Public Works, Mr. Owen made the motion to ADJOURN, seconded by Mr. Waiz.
