CALL TO ORDER: Mr. Waiz called the meeting to order at 9:32 a.m.
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Mr. Hedrick made the motion to APPROVE the minutes from the
March 21, 2018 meeting, seconded by Ms. Huffman, PASSING on a vote 3-0.
APPROVAL OF THE PAYROLL: Mr. Hedrick made the motion to APPROVE the payroll, seconded by
Ms. Huffman, PASSING on a vote of 3-0.
OLD BUSINESS:
None
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Larry Wallace—Request for approval for demolition of home due to unsafe structure at 4412
Charlestown Pike, Jeffersonville, Indiana. Ms. Martin appeared in person requesting an extension of
time to search for lower quotes for the demolition of structure. Mr. Wallace stated the City would
do the work for no more than $4,500 with payment due in one year. Mr. Hedrick made the motion
to table the item for 30 days, seconded by Ms. Huffman, PASSING 3-0. Ms. Martin was instructed to
appear at the May 2, 2018 meeting.
2. Ashley Otrich —Appeal of February 14, 2018 determination of vicious/dangerous animal. Ms.
Sarah Green presented a report of the case, reporting a mail carrier was bitten twice on February 15
by Ms. Otrich's dog. Ms. Otrich was given an Ordinance Violation ticket for failure to maintain
rabies vaccination and injury to human along with pictures of the injuries. Ms. Otrich stated no
incidents had occurred before. She did acknowledge her dog bit the mailman. Mr. Merkley read
the Ordinance guidelines of vicious/dangerous animal. Mr. Hedrick made the motion to deny the

appeal, seconded by Ms. Huffman, PASSING 3-0. Mr. Merkley stated a letter will be mailed to Ms.
Otrich.
3. Len Ashack— Request for road closure for sewer rehab projects as follows:
• Spring Street from April 2, 2018 through April 4, 2018 night closures, after 6 p.m.
• Utica Pike, from Chippewa to Jeff Boat, for the entire week of April 9 (Monday—
Friday) closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily (both directions)
Mr. Ashack indicated the work is all pending weather. Spring Street work will not start each evening
until after all businesses are closed for the day. Work dates will be posted on facebook page.
ADJOURNMENT:
With no further action for the Board of Public Works, Mr. Hedrick made the motion to ADJOURN,
seconded by Ms. Huffman. Meeting adjourned at 9:47 a.m.
