CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 9:30A.M. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Matt Owen made the motion to APPROVE the minutes from the July 5, 2017 meeting,seconded by Rob Waiz, passing on a vote of 3-0. APPROVAL OF THE PAYROLL: Matt Owen made the motion to APPROVE payroll,seconded by Rob Waiz, passing on a vote of 3-0. OLD BUSINESS: Nothing to come before the board at this time. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Donald Ryan &Amanda Broy—Appeal of June 8, 2017 determination of vicious/dangerous animal. Mr. Ryan and Miss Broy were notified by letter, mailed to 821 W. Larkspur Drive,Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130 of hearing date and time. Mayor Moore asked if Donald Ryan and Amanda Broy were in the room, Corporate Council, Les Merkley stated neither are in the room and should be noted as Failure to Appear. Sara Green, Director of Animal Control, established basis as to why the pit bull dog should be deemed vicious, pit bull has been involved with multiple attacks of other dogs and an attack of one human causing various injuries. After first attack, animal was to be quarantined at the residence of 821 W. Larkspur Drive due to being pregnant at time of incident. The second incident happened at the time animal should have been quarantined. Vicious animal attacked another dog that was being walked down the street, and when owner tried to stop the attack he was bitten as well, receiving multiple injuries. At no time did Mr. Ryan and Miss Broy put a fence up to help contain the animal inside their property.All evidence including case reports, pictures, and appeal notice will be filed with minutes in City of Jeffersonville Clerks Office. Rob Waiz made motion to affirm determination that dog is vicious and dangerous, seconded by Matt Owen, passing on a vote of 3-0. 2. Dave Weber— -Kentuckiana Comfort Center—Request for approval of road closure in the 900 block of Wall Street for a crane life to replace the HVAC and duct work at Pfau Industries.Closure will be 1 day for approximately 3—4 hours. After discussion with police and fire, Rob Waiz made motion to approve closure,seconded by Matt Owen, passing on a vote of 3-0. 3. Matt Owen—Discussion of plans for National Night Out to be held on Tuesday,August 1,2017. Matt Owen made motion to accept list of neighborhoods that will be participating,seconded by Rob Waiz, passing on a vote of 3-0. 4. Les Merkley for Bill Burns—Request for a dumpster to be delivered to 253 Spring Street for a 10(ten)day period,with an estimated delivery date of Monday,July 17,2017. This will take one parking space. Rob Waiz made motion to approve request,seconded by Matt Owen, passing on a vote of 3-0. ADJOURNMENT: No further business of the BPW meeting adjourned at 9:42 A.M.
