REGULAR MEETING
JUNE 13, 2017
The Jeffersonville Police Merit Commission meeting was held on June 13, 2017 at 5:00 P.M. in
the City Council Chambers, First Floor, 500 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, Indiana. President
Robert Campbell called the meeting to order with the following in attendance: President Robert
Campbell,Jeremy Snelling, Bonnie Deppert, Scott Aldridge, Attorney Robert Bottorff and Patty Rush.
Absent was Jim Reagan.
Invocation was given by Jeremy Snelling
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
President Campbell presented the minutes from May 17, 2017 meeting, asking if there were any
additions or corrections. Mr. Snelling made a motion to approve the minutes as presented and
seconded by Ms. Deppert. Voted 4-0
OLD BUSINESS: None
NEW BUSINESS:
Attorney Bottorff advised the Merit Commission that he received a Notice of Misconduct
Charges that were filed along with an original written request for a hearing before the Jeffersonville
Police Merit Commission from Attorney Edward J. Merchant with Ruckelshaus, Kautzman, Blackwell,
Bemis& Hasbrook from Indianapolis, Indiana. Attorney Bottorff gave each member a copy of the RULE
& PROCEDURE #4, DISCIPLINE WITHIN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT to review for any discipline within the
department. The next step is for the Commission is to take a vote for a procedure hearing date within
30 days. We have to give the member and administration notice of a hearing date which has to go out
within 14 days of the hearing date. We will have our Regular Meeting on July 111h at 5:00 then from
5:30 to 6:00 P.M. for Executive Session then 6:00 P.M. have the hearing. Mr. Aldridge made motion to
schedule the hearing date on July 11th at 6:00 P.M. and seconded by Mr. Snelling. Attorney Bottorff will
send notice of the hearing to all parties involved. Voted 4-0
PUBLIC COMMENTS: None
CLAIMS:
A claim was submitted from Indiana Media Group, Account#182830 in the amount of$844.64
for advertisement. Mr. Aldridge made a motion to approve the claim in the amount of$844.64 and
seconded by Mr. Snelling. Voted 4-0
A claim was submitted from 323 ink.com, Invoice#102049 in the amount of$137.00 dated
January 23, 2017 for Layout/Design changes to Police application to create experienced officers
applications. Mr. Snelling made a motion to approve the claim in the amount of$137.00 and seconded
by Ms. Deppert. Voted 4-0
A claim was submitted from 323 ink.com, Invoice#102352 in the amount of$65.00 dated June
1, 2017 for printing an additional run of regular applications not experienced. Mr. Snelling made a
motion to approve the claim in the amount of$65.00 and seconded by Mr. Snelling. Voted 4-0
A claim was submitted from 323 ink.com, Invoice #102320 in the amount of$65.00 dated May
18, 2017 for printing ofregular applications for officers, not experienced. Mr. Aldridge made a motion to
approve the claim in the amount of$65.00 and seconded by Mr. Snelling. Voted 4-0
A claim was submitted from Public Safety Medical, Invoice #00-30658 in the amount of
$2,421.85 dated May 19, 2017 for new Officers Theodore D. Comer, Levi D.James, Cody T. Richardson
and Brian W. Wyatt. Mr. Aldridge made a motion to approve the claim in the amount of$2,421.85 and
seconded by Ms. Deppert. Voted 4-0
ADJOURN:
Mr. Snelling made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 5:40 P.M. and seconded by Ms. Deppert.
Our next meeting will be held on July 11, 2017 at 5:00 P.M.
