SANITARY SEWER BOARD
MINUTES OF MAY 4, 2017
The Sanitary Sewer Board of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana met in regular
session on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 3:00 P.M in the City Hall Mayor's Conference
Room. Board Member Dale Orem called the meeting to order at 3:04 P.M. Board
Members present are Bill Saegesser and Dale Orem. Mayor Mike Moore is absent.
Also present are Utility Director Len Ashack, Utility Billing Office Manager Elisha Dale,
Controller Heather Metcalf, Assistant Controller Yvonne Dowd, Board Attorney Mike
Gillenwater, Jorge Lanz representing Jacobi, Toombs, and Lanz, Otto "Buzz" Krohn
representing O. W. Krohn & Associates, LLP, and Secretary Barbara Hollis.
Board Member Saegesser made the motion to approve the agenda, second by
Board Member Orem, passing on a vote of 2-0.
The minutes of the April 20, 2017 meeting were presented for approval. Board
Member Saegesser, made the motion to approve the minutes as presented, second by
Board Member Orem, passing on a vote of 2-0.
CONTROLLER'S REPORT
Controller Metcalf presented the claim list dated May 4, 2017 in the amount of
$168,937,27. Board Member Saegesser made the motion to approve the claim list as
presented, second by Board Member Orem, passing on a vote of 2-0.
Manager Dale presented the Adjustment Certificate dated May 1, 2017 in the
amount of $-26,396.96 Sewage, $-1,009.88 Drainage and $-658.71 Refund. Board
Member Orem said he has talked with Manager Dale regarding water leaks. Manager
Dale then talked with William Reedy of Indiana American Water who said a system of
notification of overages is being investigated. Board Member Saegesser made the
motion to approve the Certificate as presented, second by Board Member Orem,
passing on a vote of 3-0.
OLD BUSINESS
The rehabilitation of the Ashbrook Belt Press No. 2 that was tabled can be
removed from the agenda.
