The roll was called and those present were: Councilmen
Caldwell, Grooms, Harrod, Perkins, Waiz, and Williams.
Absent: None.
Councilman Perkins made the motion
to employ Ed and Ann Marie
Sedwick to represent the Council in court over the dispute as to who has
the right to be purchasing agent for the City. Council President Harrod
seconded the motion. Explanations and discussion followed with several
Councilmen expressing their feelings and reasons regarding the
situation. Upon calling for the vote, the motion carried with a 5-2
vote. Councilmen Williams and Grooms cast the negative votes. City
Attorney Filer made the Council aware that he will file a motion to
disqualify Ed and Ann Marie Sedwick in this matter. He feels there is a
conflict of interest on the part of both Ed and Ann Marie Sedwick.

seconded this motion which passed on a 7-0 vote.
Councilman Perkins made the motion to hire
Councilman Waiz made the motion to hire Charles MacGregor as
Councilman Carter

to review the work which will be done by Charles MacGregor on the Hughes
lease, seconded by Council President Harrod. Following discussion, the
motion passed on a 4-3
voted against the motion.
There being no
vote. Councilmen Williams, Waiz, and Grooms
further business to come before the Council
Councilman Perkins made the motion to adjourn at 4:15 o'clock P.M. ,
seconded by Councilman Williams, and carried unanimously.
