BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS MINUTES
February 22, 2017

CALLTO ORDER: Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 9:00 A.M.
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Councilperson Owen made the motion to APPROVE the minutes from the February
15, 2017 meeting,seconded by Mr.Waiz, passing on a vote of 3-0.
APPROVAL OF THE PAYROLL: Councilperson Owen made the motion to APPROVE the payroll,seconded by Mr.
Waiz, passing on a vote of 3-0.
OLD BUSINESS:
None
New Business:
1. Chad Cunningham with T&C Contracting- Request for approval of 10th Street land closure.
Mr. Cunningham presented the request for closure for the new Kroger store. Lane restrictions will
first be in the slow lane north, and then shut down the north and south bound lanes for median
work, then slow lane south. The request would start Monday, February 27"from for 4 to 5 days.
Mayor Moore asked for a motion approving for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and if needed Monday
March 3,4, 5, & 6 as he will not accept the closure otherwise. Councilperson Owen made the motion
to APPROVE for Friday March 3, Saturday March 4, and Sunday March 5, if needed Monday March 6,
2017, seconded by Mr. Waiz passing on a vote of 3-0.
2. Len Ashack—Request approval to abandon an easement on KDC property. Mr. Ashack presented the
request. Mr. Waiz made the motion to APPROVE, seconded by Councilperson Owen passing on a vote
of 3-0.
I Les Merkley—Request for approval of contract with Arsee Engineers for site visit/report&
recommendations about the Jeffersonville Masonic Temple property located at 509 E Spring Street.
Mr. Merkley presented the request stating the Historic Preservation Commission tabled the item at
their last meeting. City is hiring an engineer to visit and prepare a report on their recommendations
for the structure. Mr. Waiz made the motion to APPROVE, seconded by Councilperson Owen passing
on a vote of 3-0.
ADJOURNMENT:
With no further business of the Board, Mr. Waiz made the motion to ADJOURN, seconded by
Councilperson Owen passing on a vote of 3-0.
