Councilperson Williams inquired if progress had been made
toward helping residents on Hamburg Pike that are on well water to get
Indiana Cities Water. Mayor Orem is working on a plan that will allow
the property owners to pay one third of the cost, the City to pay one
third, and the water company to pay one third. The City would be
allowed to do this as there will be a fire hydrant at the end of the
line. It will also be researched to see if the property owners could
be billed over a period of time on their sewer bills for this as it is
so costly. Councilperson Perkins is amazed that water companies are
granted monopolies.
