HomeMy WebLinkAboutJULY 12, 2016 JEFFERSONVILLE POLICE MERIT COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING JULY 12, 2016 The Jeffersonville Police Merit Commission meeting was called to order by President Jeremy Snelling on July 12, 2016 at 6:00 P.M. The meeting was held in the City Council's Chambers on the First Floor of City Hall, 500 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, Indiana. The following members were present: President Jeremy Snelling, Vice-President Robert Campbell, Secretary Bonnie Deppert,James Reagan, Attorney Robert Bottorff and Patty Rush. Absent was Scott Aldridge. MINUTES: President Snelling presented the minutes from June 14, 2016 meeting, asking if there were any additions or corrections. Mr. Reagan made motion to approve the minutes as presented and seconded by Mr. Campbell. Voted 4-0 OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: Chief Kenny Kavanaugh answered questions regarding doubling up with Officers on shift due to the recent shootings on Police Officers. At this time, Chief Kavanaugh advised that we are still operating as usual and that on each shift they don't have enough Officers to double up on any shift. If necessary, the Jeffersonville Police responds to back up another Officer on a call if needed. He advised that the public has been very supportive and helpful to his department. CLAIMS: A claim was presented from Public Safety Medical on Invoice#00-28532 in the amount of $1,182.67. Ms. Deppert made a motion to approve the claim in the amount of$1,182.67 and seconded by Mr. Reagan. Voted 4-0 A claim was presented from the Office Supply Company (no Invoice#) in the amount of$4.50 for supplies. Ms. Deppert made a motion to approve the claim in the amount of$4.50 and seconded by Mr. Reagan. Voted 4-0 REPORTS: President Snelling advised the Commission that he reviewed the Budget and submitted 2016 Budget as the same as 2015.
