Marie Clapp~ Ron Grooms, Tony Harrod~ John Perkins~ and
Absent: Councilperson Andrew Williams.
Clerk and Treasurer Spencer reviewed the budgets and tax
rates as they have been worked to this point at the Council's
direction without any allowance for any increase in salaries. He then
reviewed the necessary procedures and deadlines for the ~99S budgets.
Following all discussion~ Councilperson Perkins made the motion to
pass Ordinance No. 91-0R-43, An Ordinance Fixing Basic Salaries Of
Appointed Officers and Employees Of The City Of Jeffersonville~
Indiana For The Year 1998~ for the third and final reading, seconded
by Councilperson Harrod and opened for discussion. Fire Department
overtime and manpower were discussed. Following all comments~ the
vote was called for on Ordinance No. 91-OR-~B~ which is recorded as a
tie with 'the following roll call vote:
Ayes: Councilpersons Carter~ Perkins, and Harrod.
Nays: Councilperson Grooms~ Waiz~ and C!app.
