OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
DECEMBER 21, 1992
The Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville~ Indiana
met in special session in the Mayor's Conference Room in the
City-County Building in Jeffersonville, Indiana on the 21st day of
December 1992, at 4:00 o'clock P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor
Jr. with C. Richard Spencer Jr. at the desk.
The roll was called and those present
Sill Wolpert, Andrew Williams III, Donna Frantz.
Raymond J. Parker
were: Councilpersons
Peggy Knight Wilder,
L. Marie Clapp, Robert L. Potter: and Steven R. Stemler.
Absent: None.
Attorney Gillenwater presented a claim in the amount of
$32.53 to settle a potential claim for a fall at the corner of Spring
and Market. Clerk and Treasurer Spencer presented several claims for
the end of the year. Following all discussion, Councilperson Clapp
made the motion to pay the claims as presented, seconded by Council
President Williams and carried unanimously.
Clerk and Treasurer Spencer presented and explained
Ordinance No. 92-0R-69, An Ordinance Transferring Funds Within Same
Department. Following all discussion, Councilperson Potter made the
motion to suspend the rules for Ordinance No. 92-0R-69~ seconded by
Councilperson Clapp and carried unanimously. Councilperson Potter
then made the motion to pass Ordinance No. 92-0R-69 on all three
readings, seconded by Councilperson Clapp, passing on the following
roll call vote:
Ayes: Councilpersons Stemler~ Pottery Clapp, Wilder, Frantz,
Williams~ and Wotpert.
Nays: None.
Councilperson Wilder presented a proposal for redistricting.
She explained there is an option to allow the Cordino Group to do
this. Due to the research that has been done by Councilperson Wilder
the Cordino Group could do this for $1,500. Attorney Gillenwater
quoted from the 1991 statute regarding redistricting saying there is
no penalty for not redistricting. He did note that if no action is
taken in 1992 the Council could be subject to a lawsuit. This would

Councilperson Clapp made the motion to pass Resolution No. 9E-R-B9, A
Resolution Establishing Council Election Districts In Jeffersonville,
Indiana~ seconded by Councilperson Wolpert and carried unanimously.
It was noted the County Commissioners have the authority to
redraw the precincts.
There being no further business to come before the Council~
Councilpersons Potter made the motion to adjourn at q:40 o'clock P.M.,
seconded by Council President Williams and carried unanimously.
