HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-13-1992The Common Council of the COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA April 13, 1992 City of Jeffersonville met in special Jeffersonvil!e, Indiana, at 7:80 P.M. on the 13th day of April, session at the Park & Recreation ?epartment, 1406 Frederick, 1998. The meeting was called to order iby Mayor Raymond J. Parker Bill Jr., at the desk at Jr., with Clerk and Treasurer C. Richard Spencer the recess of the Park Board Meeting. The roll was called and those present were Councilpersons Wolpert, Andrew Williams III, Donna M. Frantz, Peggy Knight Wilder~ L. Marie Clapp~ Absent: None. Mayor Parker Robert L. Potter, and Steven R. Stemler. opened by explaining the special meeting with the Park Board present is to discus~ the development of the Riverfront. He then introduced the members of the Riverfront Special Task Force; Chair, Councilperson Potter~ Mr. Gene Hensley, Mr. Welby Edwards, Mr. Mike Wise, and Mr. Ted Throckmorton. Mayor Parker then introduced Mr.~Eric Ernstberger of Rundell and Associates of Indianapolis who had been commissioned to develop a plan for the Riverfront in I984 at a cost to the City of $80,000. Mr. Ernstberger presented a general overview of these plans, stating he still feels it is a National award winning project. The design is Mr. Ernstberger~said the estimated cost in million. Inc., who reviewed a plan that was developed in 1988. Mr. Pierce also answered questions. Mayor Parker thanked Mr. Pierce. Mayor Parkec next Redevelopment Director who presented an project. He gave financial of his plan, as wel~ as the funding. There is no obligation for the grant. Many ideas and comments were m~de by the Mayor, Council, Park Board~ and the public. CouncilpersonlPotter announced there will be a series of public hearings held toI obtain further ideas and comments.
