The Common Council of the City of Je£fersonville met in Workshop session on
Thursday, October 17, 2002 at 6:30 P.M. The meeting was held in the Mayor's
Conference Room of the City County Building Room. Council President Denny Frantz
called the meeting to order at 6:40 P.M. Other Council members in attendance were, Les
Merkley, Ron Ellis, Rob Waiz, Barbara Wilson, and Vicki Conlin. Councilperson Ron
Grooms Conlin was absent. Also present was Deputy Clerk Barbara Hollis.
The matter of redistricting was discussed. Two plans were presented. Councilperson
Ellis voiced his objection to both plans, saying he does not want Precinct #15 a part of his
district. Precinct census tracks and registered voters were compared, as was minority
representation. Suggestions were made for plans other than the two presented in writing.
Councilperson Grooms arrived at 7:25 P.M.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 P.M.
