1
Middle Rd. Section one has been approved however there is some land where there is a dispute
with the property owner. There has been a firefighter who has been out of work for a little over
a year, he had surgery today and his prognosis is good. It is looking like he will be able to return
to work. Also, there have been 12 firefighters who have taken off of work due to new babies
being born. Please keep this thought in mind when it comes time to approve budgets.
Councilperson Samuel: Passed out a Pocket Guide with local services. Will be giving these out
to people at Exit 0. We had a gentleman vandalizing the flood wall murals and when they were
being redone he came back and pulled a weapon on the artist. Thankful to the Carmen
Industries employee who came and assisted until the police could arrive. Samuel contacted the
person who keeps tabs on what needs to be done at the park that did not have electricity and
he will be doing more thorough exams of the parks moving forward.
Council President Gill: There was an executive order over the 10th Street medians. The Council
is only responsible for the fiscal portion and the legislative portion of the City. The Council did
place funding for the maintenance of the medians however they have no control over what the
City employees do after the funding is set aside. Reminder of National Night Out. Thank you to
Krunchers and Old Town Grocery. We have great business who want to be involved in the City
and Community. Also we need the responses on the firetrucks.
ADJOURNMENT:
Council President made a motion to ADJOURN at 8:01 pm with Councilperson Owen moving the motion.
