AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2013 -OR -8
(AUTHORIZING THE CITY OFFICIALS TO USE CITY CREDIT CARDS
FOR OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT PURCHASES AND ESTABLISHING
A CREDIT CARD USAGE POLICY)
WHEREAS, the Common Council for the City of Jeffersonville, Clark
County Indiana (hereinafter the "Council"), is City's statutory Fiscal and
Legislative Bodies pursuant to Indiana Code;
WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that there is a need to
amend Ordinance No. 2013 -OR -8 by re -assigning the existing City credit cards to
provide for a Public Safety Emergency Credit Card that will be accessible 24
hours a day, 7 days a week, for emergency situations only, without the need of
increasing the total number of City credit cards.
WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that one of the credit
cards previously assigned to the Controller (for use by various city departments)
shall be re -assigned as a Public Safety Emergency Credit Card.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council:
1. That one of the credit cards previously assigned to the Controller
(for use by various city departments) shall be re -assigned as a Public Safety
Emergency Credit Card, reducing the number of credits cards assigned to the
Controller from 3 to 2.
2. That the Public Safety Emergency Credit Card shall be kept at the
Police Headquarters, accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to be used only
in emergency situations by the appropriately authorized emergency personnel.
3. That the Public Safety Emergency Credit Card shall have a credit
limit of $10,000.
4. That all other terms and provisions of Ordinance No. 2013 -OR -8
shall remain in full force and effect.
5. That this Ordinance shall be effective upon final passage and
approval.
