Councilperson Wilder explained overall there was a pretty good

Mr. Lincoln Crum~ a local realtor and auctioneer, read a
letter he had previously sent to Councilperson Wilder regarding the
old sewage plant auction. He does not feel he was given a "fair
shot". The company he represents was started by his Father in 1976.

company was selected when he believes his company has the

Crum stated he will sit on the City Council some day.
Attorney Gillenwater stated the auctioning

and unethical manner. He would like
types of selections are made. Mr.
of the old sewer
plant was not required to be bid. The lowest quote received was not
in the best interest of the City due to the extent of advertising that
would be done. The Company selected is not only in Louisivlle but
also Southern Indiana~ and between the two was most qualified.
Attorney Gillenwater stated the procedure waS done legally and
ethically. The auction company was chosen upon the recommendation of
the appraisers. Attorney Gillenwater said he complied with all of Mr.
Crum's requests, others were more agressive. The Company chosen was
done on his recommendation as he felt this was the best for the City.
Mr. Charles White thanked Counci lperson Williams for
offering to follow up on tax abatements. Mr. White is concerned for
the population numbers in each Council District. Counci lperson
Wilde~-'s District population outnumbers those of others and he asks if
there are plans to redraw the districts. Councilperson Wilder said
this has been worked on: however- no conclusions have been made.
Mr. John Mockabee explained in detail the extreme mosquito
problem in his neighborhood. He called the Health Department and was
told mosquitos don~t carry disease. There is a need to have something
done. The undergrowth is too thick and nobody knows who's
responsible. He has been told the Park Department does not have the
money to take care of this. He requests the Council start building
funds for this area as well as other areas of town. Councilperson
Frantz promised the Council will look into the matter. Councilperson
Wolpert offered to walk the area with Mr. Mockabee.
There being no further business to come before the Council,
Council President Potter moved to adjourn at 9:10 o'clock P.M.
seconded by Councilperson Stemler and unanimously carried.
