AN ORDINANCE PERMITTING THE
DOCKING OF GAMBLING RI.VERBOATS
IN JEFFERSONVILLE
WHEREAS, the legislature of thc State of Indiana has recently enacted a law which
creates a Gaming Conmnission and which would permit Riverboat Gambling in Cities and
Counties contiguous to the Ohio River, including Jeffersonville; and
WHEREAS, the location of a Riverboat Gambling facility within the City of
Jeffersonville could produce additional revenues which could be used for the operation of
the City and Clark County; and
WHEREAS, a prerequisite to obtaining a licensed Riverboat gambling facility is
for the Common Council of Jeffersonville to enact an ordinance permitting the docking
of Riverboats in Jeffersonville and Clark County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
Jeffersonville ,Indiana, pursuant to I.C. 4-33-6-18 and I.C. 4-33-6-19 that Riverboats shall
be permitted to dock in the City of Jeffersonville and Clark County, Indiana.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that that the location of the home dock any such
Riverboat(s) shall be in the City of Jeffersonville.
