City Council Conference Room
The Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville met in a Special Session on Monday December
30th, 2013. Council President Sellers, with City Clerk Vicki Conlin, called the meeting to order at
11:02 A.M. On the roll call present were Councilperson Smith, Councilperson Gill, Councilperson
Glover, Council President Sellers, Council Vice -President Julius, Councilperson Samuel,
Councilperson Payne and Councilperson Owen. Absent was Councilperson Zastawny. Also
present was City Council Attorney Scott Lewis.
Approval of the Agenda
Councilperson Smith made a motion to APPROVE the agenda with the addition of the Martin
Luther King Day Annual Breakfast Event. Councilperson Owen seconded the motion, PASSING
on a vote of 8-0.
New Business
1. 2013-R-38 A Resolution Approving a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the
City of Jeffersonville and The Jeffersonville Fraternal Order of Police: Councilperson
Julius stated that there was some last minute hold up regarding temporary rank. The
chief wanted it included in the contract but they felt that it should be a separate
Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The resolution includes it as being done as a
separate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Councilperson Julius stated it would
go before the commission as a grievance either way. Councilperson Smith made a
motion to APPROVE 2013-R-38 with Councilperson Julius seconding, PASSING on a
vote of 8-0.
2. Martin Luther King Day 2014 Breakfast: Council President Sellers asked the council
for approval of purchasing a table at the Martin Luther King Day Annual breakfast to
benefit their scholarship fund. It is on Saturday January 18th, 2013. Councilperson
Smith made a motion to APPROVE the purchase of a table for $250 with
Councilperson Owen seconding, PASSING on a vote of 8-0.
Councilperson Smith made a motion to ADJOURN at 11:11 A.M. with Councilperson Owen
seconding, PASSING on a vote 8-0
