Employee Christmas Party Funding Council President Sellers stated that the council is pulled together to discuss where to approve the funding for the employee Christmas Party. There are two events. The first one to discuss is the catering for the Citywide employee lunch at the Street Department next Friday December 21St. The price for this is $2,100. The second event is the Mayor's Department Head Christmas Party held at Mayor's residence Friday December 13th, 2013 in the evening. Councilperson Smith stated he would like to vote for these items separately because he does not agree with paying for the Mayor's Department Head Party at his residence. Mr. Lewis stated the money could come from Gaming. Council President Sellers brought up the idea of adding a line item next year into the budget for this annual event of the Citywide Christmas Party under the H.R. budget. Councilperson Smith stated he thought the City collected scrap metal to pay for the Christmas Party every year so that it didn't come from Taxpayers. Council President Sellers stated that it only pays for the Chicken for everyone. Councilperson Smith disagreed with this stating he is sure it paid for more and that he does not agree with Taxpayers paying for this event. Mr. Lewis suggested a future Ordinance or Resolution to establish a Non -Reverting Fund to put scrap money metal into that could pay for this event if the Council wishes to do so. Councilperson Smith made a motion to APPROVE out of Gaming not to exceed $2,500 for the Citywide Employee Christmas Party. Councilperson Gill seconded, PASSING on a vote of 7-0.
