SPECIAL MEETING
OCTOBER 30, 2013
President Dennis Henry called the Special Meeting of the Jeffersonville Police
Merit Commission meeting to order at 4:30 P.M. on October 30, 2013 in the City
Building, First Floor Council Chambers, Jeffersonville, Indiana. The following members
were present: Dennis Henry, Bonnie Deppert, Clay "Beany" Smith, Jim Hall, Attorney
Robert Bottorff and Patty Rush. Jeremy Snelling was late to the meeting.
President Henry read a letter from Chief Chris Grimm recommending Denver
Leverett for the opening position for Sergeant. Mr. Smith made motion to accept the
recommendation and seconded by Mr. Hall. The probation period will become effective
on November 1, 2013 for one year. Voted 4 -0
The Commission will wait to receive a letter Chief Chris Grimm in regard to the
Corporal's position available.
President Henry presented a Notice of Misconduct Charges against Officer
Anthony G. Mills, Jr. On October 8, 2013, Officer Mills was placed on administrative
leave with pay pending further investigation. A certified letter will be mailed to Officer
Mills regarding a hearing. If no response from Officer Mills, then a hearing will be set
for the 13 of November. If a notification has been received by the Commission, then a
hearing will be scheduled for November 25, 2013 at 5:00 P.M.
Our next regular meeting will be held on October 13, 2013 at 5:00 P.M. Our
meeting adjourned at 4:55 P.M.
