FOR THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE
STATE OF INDIANA
IN THE MATTER OF THE
VETO OF RESOLUTION
NO. 2013-R-23
VETO AND STATEMENT OF REASONS
Comes now the Mayor for the City of Jeffersonville, Mike Moore, having reviewed Resolution No.
2013 -R -23, "A Resolution Supporting the Initial Planning of a Proposed Marina Project within the City of
Jeffersonville" hereby vetoes said resolution and in support states the following reasons:
1. The marina project has been discussed for several months with the public and the City Council.
2. The marina project is 95% designed incorporating recommendations from public and the City
Council.
3. The City of Jeffersonville through its Redevelopment Commission has already done its due
diligence in reference to the marina project including the following:
a. All necessary and required permits for the construction of the marina project have been
submitted.
b. Calculated costs projections including rental projections for the marina project have been
performed.
4. The marina project should be funded without further delay. Resolution No. 2013 -R -33 does not
fund the marina project or commit the City Council to fundi ► the marina project.

A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE INITIAL PLANNING OF A
PROPOSED MARINA PROJECT
WITHIN THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE
WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville is a growing City located on the Ohio River;
WHEREAS, our current docks are in need of enhancement and improvement;
WHEREAS, an enhanced and updated Marina is recommended by the Mayor and
Redevelopment Commission as a project they wish to promote and fund;
WHEREAS, the City Council supports improving quality of life and aesthetics throughout
the City;
WHEREAS,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Jeffersonville, Indiana, that the Council does hereby:
1. Approve and authorizes the Redevelopment Commission to do the
appropriate due diligence, to include detailed plans for a proposed Marina
Project, all necessary and required permits to be approved, cost projections
and analysis based on finalized plans, and slip rental projections;
2. No construction or demolition is authorized until all items from the "due
diligence" is presented and approved by the City Council.
3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval.
