HomeMy WebLinkAboutJuly 24th, 2013 MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA July 24, 2013 Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 9:32am and on the call of roll were Councilperson Payne and Rick Lovan. Also present: Animal Shelter Director Charlie Heavrin, Fire Chief Eric Hedrick, IT Director Matt Dyer, WWTP Director Len Ashack, Storm Coordinator Deb Ashack, Police Chief Chris Grimm, Human Resources Generalist Morgana Landrum, Safety Director Amir Mousavi, Street Commissioner David Hosea, Controller Amy Deering, Corporate Attorney Les Merkley, Redevelopment Director Rob Waiz, Assistant City Engineer Bill Dixon, Grant Writer DeLynn Rutherford, Building Commissioner Russ Seagraves, Vehicle Maintenance Director Bubby Vissing, UEZ Director Kelly Phillips, Parks Superintendent Paul Northam, Administrative Assistant Candy Stewart. Mr. Lovan made a motion to approve the July 17, 2013, minutes with Councilperson Payne seconding, PASSING on a vote of 3 -0. Mr. Lovan made a motion to APPROVE payroll, with Councilperson Payne seconding, PASSING on a vote of 3 -0. OLD BUSINESS: None. NEW BUSINESS: 1. DeLynn Rutherford — July 2013 Invoice: Ms. Rutherford requested approval of an invoice for $5,470.36 from Structurepoint for construction and engineering fees for the Chestnut Street Big Four Bridge Streetscape project. Ms. Rutherford stated that Redevelopment approved having BPW approve the invoices. Councilperson Payne made a motion to APPROVE the invoice to Structurepoint with Mr. Lovan seconding, PASSING on a vote of 3 -0. 2. Andrew Ledbetter — Jacobs Engineering: Mr. Ledbetter requested approval of a detour route for when the ramp to 31 North off of the 2 nd Street Bridge closes for construction. This closure will take place sometime in April or May and will last approximately thirty days. Traffic will be routed down Court Avenue and up Spring Street to 10 Street. Mr. Lovan made a motion to APPROVE the closure with Councilperson Payne seconding, PASSING on a vote of 3 -0. 3. Chris Grimm — Railroad Tracks on Utica - Sellersburg Road: Chief Grimm stated that the railroad tracks on Utica - Sellersburg Road directly past Cunningham Campers are in extremely bad shape and are going to cause damage to vehicles. Chief Grimm stated that he called CSX concerning this problem and they told him that they would put the complaint on their list. Mr. Dixon explained that he also called them about a month ago and was told that he was the sixth call to complain about the tracks.
