Visitors — Richard ECk|umj and Joyce Ribble Approval of 4.22.13 meeting minutes. Motion by Deaver, Second by Ellis — passing 5-0 The Committee was updated on OUrRFP and RFC) by Corbin, Both have gone out and there have been little response to date. Corbin did contact several individuals to ensure it was distributed widely. The Committee was asked to resend to any avenues they might have to spread the word. Deaver was to connect with the local newspaper. They had agreed to do a story on this. Samuel reported that the City Council is working on a Resolution to have JPAC be the point of contact for initial approval for anyone or group interested in putting public art on City property. It was discussed that an application or check list needs to be pulled together by JPAC in preparation for the nyqueSby. Corbin is to pull the application together, Ellis is to send his checklist that Mainstreet uses, other Committee members are to send templates or suggestions to C0rb/n. This will be an agenda item next time. Corbin discussed utilizing corner lot at MarketlSpring (where ice rink usua!Jy is set up) for possibte Saturday afternoon activities that would include featuring an artist (possible ideas of glass bl0wing, chaiDoavvsculptUrenS. etc.) along with food vendors. This would coincide with the foot traffic from the Big Four Bridge opening and help draw more individuals to our downtown. Corbin is to discuss further with UEZ for funding and with Downtown Merchants to keep them informed. Joyce Ribble is working with the Art Component and planning for the 2014 Steamboat Days Festival. Proposed the idea of getting an artist to help layout and oversee painting one-two panels on th8fl0UdYV8ll and have the community involved in a "paint by numbers' type event. The Committee agreed to allow Ribble to pursue with her committee and keep JPAC informed of more detailed plans. Permission was not granted for the project due h] not enough information, but she was encouraged to continue with the planning and to update us on the information, The Advance Placement Studio Art Students art showing at the former Bales Motors Showroom at Spring & 7th Streets was a huge success. Struck was commended for all her work with setting up the event space and for continuing to educeba, promote and encourage our youth to be artists. Our next scheduled meeting is June 3 @ 3pm. K — " ~
