THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA

The Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville met in workshop session in the
Mayor's Conference Room in the Ci~ County Building, Jeffersonville, Indiana on the
19th day of June, 2000.' :
The meeting was called to order at 5:07 p.m. by Council President Ron Ellis, with Chief
Deputy Clerk Treasurer Suzy Bass at the desk.. Other Councilpersons in mtendance were
Barbara Wilson, Vicki Conlin, Les Merkley, Rob Waiz, Ron Grooms, and Dennis Frantz.
Beverly Knight, Youth Director, appeared before the Council with the Youth
C0mrnissioa. Jennifer Yingling spoke on behalf of the Youth Commission requesting
funding and support from the City Council. They presented the Council with a budget in
the amount of $37,600.00 to get through the rest of this year. They will be asking other
businesses and organizations for support also but they wanted to approach the City
Council first. Questions and answers followed. There was a consensus with the Council
to approve a transfer from the Council Promotion to the Youth Commission for
$10,000.00 at the next regular meeting. There was also a consensus of the Council to ask
for ,an Additional Appropriation for $40,000.00. This would be put imo. the Council
Promotion Fund.
There being no further business, Council President Ellis adjourned the meeting.
