HomeMy WebLinkAboutJanuary 8th, 2013 JEFFERSONVILLE POLICE MERIT COMMISSION JANUARY 8, 2013 President Dennis Henry called the Jeffersonville Police Merit Commission meeting to order at 6:00 P.M. on January 8, 2013 in the City Hall, Jeffersonville, Indiana. The following members were present: Dennis Henry, Bonnie Deppert, Clay "Beany" Smith, Jim Hall, Jeremy Snelling, Attorney Robert Bottorff and Patty Rush. President Henry presented the minutes from December 11, 2012. Mr. Snelling made motion to approve the minutes as presented and seconded by Ms. Deppert. Voted 6 -0 President Henry presented and reviewed the budget from 2012 with the Commission, minus attorney billing for November fees. Mr. Henry presented Invoice # 3758 in the amount of $1,590.00 for November for attorney fees. Mr. Smith made motion to approve Invoice #3858 and seconded by Ms. Deppert. Voted 6 -0 President Henry presented a request from Patty Rush to receive one months pay for the month of January 2013. Mr. Smith made motion to approve and seconded by Ms. Deppert. Voted 6 -0 Chief Grimm from the Jeffersonville Police Department was present to award certificates to the following in regard to their promotions: Tim Deeringer to the rank of Lieutenant Joseph Hubbard to the rank of Lieutenant Rusty Settles to the rank of Lieutenant Jason VanGilder to the rank of Sergeant Chris Ueding to the rank of Lieutenant Chief Grimm advised the Commission that all of the evaluations have been completed and have already been turned in to the Human Resources Department. He advised that there is a sergeant's position available. Mr. Snelling made a motion for President Henry to start the process for the sergeant's promotion and it was seconded by Mr. Smith. Individuals that are taking the test for promotion must score a minimum of 80% on the test. It will become effective thirty (30) days from the posting which will be January 11, 2013.
