A RESOLUTION IMPLEMENTING A CHANGE IN PROCEDURES FOR
APPROVING CAPITAL EXPENDITURE PURCHASES AND LEASES
FOR REMAINING CALENDAR YEAR OF 2013 UNTIL
FURTHER APPROVAL BY THE COMMON COUNCIL
WHEREAS, the Common Council for the City of Jeffersonville, Clark
County Indiana (hereinafter the "Council "), as the City's statutory Fiscal and
Legislative Bodies, has previously approved the 2013 budget for the City which
included appropriations for capital expenditures and leases.
WHEREAS, due to the uncertainties in the future impact of circuit breaker
caps on the City budget and the uncertainties in future budget revenues, the
Council has determined that it is in the City's best financial interest to change the
procedures in approving capital expenditure purchases and leases in excess of
$5,000.00 for the remaining calendar year of 2013 until further consideration and
further approval by the Council after a specific request is made to the Council by
a department head or other appropriate City official;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council that the
Council hereby implements a change in capital expenditure purchase procedures
for the remaining calendar year of 2013. All capital expenditure purchases and
leases in excess of $5,000.00 must be pre- approved by the City Council.
