HomeMy WebLinkAboutJanuary 8th, 2013 JEFFERSONVILLE BUILDING AUTHORITY January 8, 2013 The regular meeting of the Jeffersonville Building Authority was held on Tuesday, January 8 2013, at 9:00 a.m. in the Building Commissioner's Conference Room on the second floor in the Jeffersonville City Hall. Present were Building Commissioner Russ Segraves, Board Members Don Sperzel and Bill Fry. Also present was Administrative Assistant Susan Robertson. MINUTES Mr. Sperzel made a motion to approve the December 11, 2012 minutes. Mr. Segraves said the minutes said the deductable for the camera damaged by lightning was $500.00. He said the deductable is actually $5,000.00 and going up to $10,000.00 in 2013. The motion was seconded by Mr. Segraves. NEW ORDINANCE AND LEASE Mr. Merkley informed Mr. Segraves that the Ordinance and Lease should be ready to be presented at the next Council meeting. HR DOOR The new door has been installed in the HR Department for the new employee. The cost was $900.00. HISTORY & APPROPRIATION REPORTS The yearend reports were not available for this meeting. DUMPSTER GATES Mr. Segraves said this is the 3 time the dumpster gate has been damaged by wind. He said he was in the process of fixing it again, but found out that it had already been fixed. He assumes that Sun Properties did the work. He said the next time it happens we should consider using a chain link gate so the air can go thru it. COOLING TOWER/BOILER Mr. Segraves reported that the problem with the cooling tower and boiler being on at the same time has not been fixed. He said ECT, the control contractor, will be here this week. A SHOWER The shower that is being installed on the third floor is 98% finished. The cost to put the shower in was $1,250.00. WALNUT RIDGE The Mayor would like for the grass and lawn maintenance contract to go out for bid. The Board likes the fact that Walnut Ridge does the rest of the complex so everything is done at one time and they do a good job. We are paying Walnut Ridge $389.25 per month. After a discussion Mr. Segraves said he would contact another company to submit a bid. APPOINTMENTS Mr. Segraves has not heard anything from the City Council with regard to the 2013 appointments to the Board. ENTRANCE DOORS Mr. Segraves will look into putting in an automatic door on one of the entrance doors. He said a 32" clear opening is required, and putting it on only one door would work. He will also look into having new hinges installed on the inner glass doors so they would close automatically. HAND TOWEL /SOAP DISPENSERS Mr. Segraves said the battery operated hand towel dispensers we currently have are very expensive to operate. He is looking into switching to the manual pull down dispenser. RL Solutions is responsible for supplying the paper towels. He said that RL Solutions will be changing out the soap dispensers to the ones that use soap in bags. The ones we have now clog up. RL Solutions is responsible for supplying the soap and the dispenser. PAINTING Mr. Segraves said he hopes to have the corridors painted this year after March or April. FLUID KIT Mr. Segraves is looking into purchasing a body fluid kit. He said it is not a requirement, but thought we should probably have it on hand. The next meeting will be held on February 12, 2013. The meeting was adjourned at 9:25 a.m. on a motion by Mr. Sperzel and seconded by Mr. Fry. Minutes approved by:�.,�,... ._-� Chairman
