OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
December 26, 2012
Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 9:33 A.M. and on the call of roll were Councilperson
Lisa Gill and Public Works Coordinator Rick Lovan.
Also present was: City Engineer Andy Crouch, WWTP Director Len Ashack, Planning and Zoning
Director Shane Corbin, Police Chief Chris Grimm, Assistant Controller Amy Deering, Safety Director
Mike Ogg, UEZ Director Kelly Reed, Assistant Fire Chief Bruce Deark, Building Commissioner Russ
Segraves, Redevelopment Director Rob Waiz, Animal Shelter Director Sarah Green, Corporation
Counsel Tom Lowe, and Deputy Clerk Erica Burress.
Councilperson Gill made a motion to approve the December 19 2012 minutes with Mr. Lovan
seconding, passing on a vote of 3 -0.
Councilperson Gill made a motion to approve payroll, with Mr. Lovan seconding, passing on a vote
of 3 -0.
OLD BUSINESS:
1.) Terry Hicks - Request on Street Lights: Mayor Moore addressed the information requested
regarding Street Lights stating that City Attorney Les Merkley has briefly looked over the
information. There is no BPW meeting on Jan 2 2013 and this will go into the hands of the
electric company after approval from BPW. Mrs. Hicks stated they are going to have a
meeting to look the most necessary areas for lights and will be talking to all neighbors
regarding lights going into their yards. Councilperson Gill made a motion to APPROVE the
street lights contingent on City Attorney Les Merkley's final approval. Mr. Lovan seconded,
PASSING on a vote of 3 -0.
NEW BUSINESS:
1.) Tom Lowe -Fire Department: Coporation Counsel Tom Lowe presented a Standards
Operations Procedure Manual to the board to take under advisement until the next meeting
on January 9 2012. Mr. Lowe stated this will give the board and himself time to review the
manual. Councilperson Gill made a motion to TABLE the SOP for the Fire Department with
Mr._Lovan seconding, PASSING on a vote of 3 -0.
2.) Tom Lowe - Meeting Schedule: Mr. Lowe suggested the board officially set the BPW
meeting schedule for 2013 for Wednesday's at 9:30 A.M. with the exception of the Jan 2nd,
2013 meeting when City Hall will be closed for Holiday. Councilperson Gill made that
motion, with Mr. Lovan seconding, PASSING on a vote of 3 -0.
Councilperson Gill made a motion to adjourn at 9:42 A.M. with Mr. Lovan s onding, passing
unanimously.
