AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ESTABLISHED HOLIDAYS
FOR CITY EMPLOYEES
Be it ordained by the Common Council Of The City Of Jeffersonville that Ordinance 75-
OR-32, as amended, (Sec. 35.08 Code of Ordinances) shall be amended to read as follows:
(A) An employee shall receive his regular rate of pay for each of the 14 holidays
listed below, provided the employee has worked the immediately preceding scheduled
work day and the next succeeding schedule work day unless excused for vacation days.
(1) New Years'Day
(2) Washington's Birthday
(3) Good Friday
(4) Primary Election Day
(5) Memorial Day
(6) Independence Day
(7) Labor Day
(8) General Election Day
(9) Veterans' Day
(10) Thanksgiving Day
(11) Friday Following Thanksgiving
(12) Christmas Eve
(13) Christmas Day
(14) Martin Luther King's Birthday
(B) During non-election years, the Primary and General Election Day shall not
(C) If any of the above-listed holidays fall on a Saturday, the holiday will be
observed on the immediately preceding Friday. If any of the above-listed holidays fall on
a Sunday, the holiday will be observed on the immediately succeeding Monday.
(D) If an employee works on any of the above-listed holidays, he shall receive
one and one-half times his regular rate of pay as full compensation for holiday leave pay.
Passed and adopted by the Common Council of City of Jeffersonville, Clark
County, State of Indiana, on the __ day of January, 1993.
