The Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville met in a workshop on Monday August 20 2012.
Council President Ed Zastawny called the workshop to order at 6:05 P.M. and on the roll call members
present was Councilpersons Connie Sellers, Bryan Glover, Zach Payne, Lisa Gill, Nathan Samuel, and Ed
Zastawny. Absent: Councilmembers Mike Smith, Matt Own, Dennis Julius
Guests present: Corporation Counsel Tom Lowe, City Council Attorney Scott Lewis, Mayor Mike Moore,
Human Resources Director Kim Calabro, Liz Gross with ParkLand HR Services, LLC. and Controller Monica
Harmon
Wage Salary Study
Liz Gross a representative ParkLand HR Services, LLC. discussed findings from the wage salary study
done with the city of Jeffersonville. Mrs. Gross discussed with the council that the last time the wage
study was done was in 2009 and it was much needed. She discussed that the midpoint range of the pay
grade scales were critical and currently there are 64% of employees below the midpoint range. Mrs.
Gross stated that she anticipates a shift upward in pay grades throughout the employees. Mrs. Gross
also discussed with the City Council ways that the city can maintain the changes being made without
making continuous changes to the salary ordinance. Mrs. Gross discussed the various data used to
determine the correct pay scale per position and assured the council it is extensive research.
Councilperson Payne made a motion to adjourn at 6:55 P.M. with Councilperson Gill seconding, passing
unanimously.
