HomeMy WebLinkAboutAugust 20, 2012 Workshop 1 JEFFERSONVILLE CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP Monday August 20 2012 City Hall, Mayor's Conference Room The Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville met in a workshop on Monday August 20 2012. Council President Ed Zastawny called the workshop to order at 5:05 P.M. and on the roll call members present was: Councilpersons Connie Sellers, Bryan Glover, Zach Payne, Lisa Gill, Mike Smith, Nathan Samuel, Ed Zastawny, and Dennis Julius. Absent: Councilmembers Matt Owen Guests present: Police Chief Chris Grimm, Corporation Counsel Tom Lowe, City Council Attorney Scott Lewis, Mayor Mike Moore, and Controller Monica Harmon Police Station Design Police Chief Grimm presented final design plans for council review before they are signed off on and construction documents are drawn up. Chief Grimm laid the designs on the table for council review and showed them the various aspects of the new facility that will reception area, records, meeting rooms, evidence rooms, garages, locker rooms, physical agility rooms, break room, three interview rooms, k9 area with kennels, and the administrative offices. Chief Grimm also showed shell plans for a possible dispatch room and stated that it is going to simply be a shell with a gravel floor until plans on usage for that room are finalized. Chief Grimm stated that there will be plenty of room for expansion and the locker room has lockers to accommodate up to 100 officers. Chief Grimm stated that geothermal heat and air will save on utility costs and a more definite estimate will come after construction documents can give an approximate square footage of the building.
