OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
June 20 2012
Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 9:31 A.M. and on the call of roll were Public Works Coordinator Rick
Lovan and Councilperson Lisa Gill
Also present was Animal Shelter Director Sarah Green, Human Resources Director Kim Calabro, Sewer Billing
Manager Rick Stephenson, I.T. Director Matt Dyer, Parks Superintendent Paul Northam, Building Commissioner
Russ Segraves, Assistant City Engineer Bill Dixon, City Engineer Andy Crouch, Vehicle Maintenance Director Bubby
Vissing, Street Commissioner David Hosea, Police Chief Chris Grimm, Assistant Fire Chief Bruce Deark, Safety
Director Michael Ogg, Planning and Zoning Director Shane Corbin, Accountant Dennis Kestler, Redevelopment
Director Rob Waiz, Grant Writer Delynn Rutherford, Communications Director Leah Farris, City Attorney Les
Merkley, Corporation Counsel Tom Lowe, Deputy Clerk Erica Burress.
Councilperson Gill made a motion to approve the June 20 2012 minutes with Mr. Lovan seconding, passing on a

vote of 3 -0.
Councilperson Gill made the motion to approve the payroll, seconded by Mr. Lovan, passing on a vote of 3 -0.

OLD BUSINESS:
1.) Rick Lovan -Light at Flagpole at Exit Zero: Mr. Lovan brought to attention to the board that the Tight over
the flag at exit zero has been fixed.
NEW BUSINESS:
1.) Bernie Pasqantino- Adrienne's Bakery Italian Festival: Mr. Pasqantino asked for board approval of the
closure of Court Avenue from Spring to Pearl Street for the Italian Festival on September 21 22 and
23 Mr. Pasqantino stated that the festival in previous years would start in the evenings, but would like to
see if it is possible to close the street earlier in the day around noon this year Mayor Moore stated that the
board is in favor of the festival but requested that the street closures be tabled for one week to look further
into closing the street earlier as requested. Mr. Lovan made a motion to table the road closure for one
week, with Councilperson Gill seconding, passing unanimously.
2.) Sara Schutz- Crusin' With the Blue's Brother: Mrs. Schutz requested board approval for the following street
closures from 3 P.M. -11 P.M. on Friday June 29 2012:
• Riverside Drive from Pearl Street- Locust Street
• Pearl Street at the Flood Wall
• Spring Street at the Flood Wall
• Wall Street at the Flood Wall
Mr. Lovan made a motion to approve the road closures with Councilperson Gill seconding, passing on a
vote of 3 -0.
Sara Schutz- Tri -It Kids Triathlon: Mrs. Schutz requested board approval for a rolling road block from 7:45
A.M. -9:30 A.M. on Middle Road from Perrin Lane to the Aquatic Center Entrance and a full road closure on
Perrin Lane from Middle Road to Perrin Park. Mr. Lovan made a motion to approve the road closure of
Perrin Lane from Middle road to Perrin Park and the rolling road block on Middle Road. Councilperson Gill
{ seconded, passing unanimously.
3.) Lisa Gill: Slow Sign on Hopkins Lane: Councilperson Gill spoke on behalf of residents requesting a Slow sign
at either the top or bottom of the hill on Hopkins lane. Mr. Lovan made a motion to approve, with
Councilperson Gill seconding, passing unanimously.
4.) Bill Dixon- Hamburg Pike Detour: Assistant City Engineer Bill Dixon requested approval of the closure of
Hamburg Pike. The map given to the board shows a detour of traffic on Woehrle Road and Charlestown
Jeffersonville Pike. The Closure will be July 9 July 30 City Engineer Andy Crouch stated that the entire
project is still expected to be complete in November. Mayor Moore expressed concerns for businesses on
that stretch of road for those three weeks, and Mr. Lovan stated that he would personally go out to the
businesses to let them know. Councilperson Gill made a motion to approve, with Mr. Lovan seconding,
passing unanimously.
5.) Bruce DeArk Contract extension: Assistant Fire Chief Bruce Deark requested the extension of the contract
with Felix Hensley for one month. Police Chief Grimm stated that he would have to talk to the Controller
about where that would be able to come from in his budget. Councilperson Gill made a motion to approve,
with Mr. Lovan seconding, passing unanimously.
Councilperson Gill made a motion to adjourn at 9:51 A.M. with Lovan secinding, passing unanimously.
