HomeMy WebLinkAbout6-20-2012 MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA June 20 2012 Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 9:33 A.M. and on the call of roll were Public Works Coordinator Rick Lovan and Councilperson Bryan Glover sitting in for Councilperson Lisa Gill Also present was Animal Shelter Director Sarah Green, Fire Chief Eric Hedrick, Parks Superintendent Paul Northam, Building Commissioner Russ Segraves, Assistant City Engineer Bill Dixon, Vehicle Maintenance Director Bubby Vissing, Street Commissioner David Hosea, Police Assistant Chief Scott Oliver, Safety Director Michael Ogg, Planning and Zoning Director Shane Corbin, Controller Monica Harmon, Building Commissioner Russ Segraves, Redevelopment Director Rob Waiz, City Attorney Les Merkley, Corporation Counsel Tom Lowe, Deputy Clerk Erica Burress. Mr. Lovan made a motion to approve the June 13 2012 minutes with Councilperson Gill abstaining, passing on a vote of 2 -0. Councilperson Gill made the motion to approve the payroll, seconded by Mr. Lovan, passing on a vote of 3 -0. OLD BUSINESS: 1.) Bike Rack in front of Mark's Barbershop at Wall Street and Maple Street: Mr. Lovan asked for approval of moving forward with the addition of the bike rack. He stated that this will include adding a small curb and the removal of an illegal parking space. Mr. Hosea stated that he had no problem with those plans. Mr. Lovan made a motion to follow through with this matter, Councilperson Gill seconded, passing on a vote of 3 -0. 2.) Canine Policy: Councilperson Gill stated that she was able to review the policy and had no problems with it There was some discussion about the changing of language that was done concerning usage of the dogs in the school system since they do participate outside of Greater Clark Schools. Councilperson Gill made a motion to approve the policy with Mr. Lovan seconding, passing on a vote of 3 -0. NEW BUSINESS: 1.) Judith Vangilder- Residential Sign at 220 E. Maple Street: Mrs. Vangilder requested the approval of a residential sign at 220 E. Maple Street on behalf of a citizen. Councilperson Gill made a motion to approve the residential sign with Mr. Lovan seconding, passing on a vote of 3 -0.
