MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
December 28, 2011

Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9 :35 a.m. and on the call of the roll those members present were
en Coordinator Rick Lovan and Councilperson Barbara Wilson.
' Also present were Parks Director Bob Manor, Vehicle Maintenance Director Bubby Vissing, Street Commissioner David
Hosea, Animal Shelter Director Harry Wilder, Building Commissioner Russ Segraves, Officer Don Grimes, Safety Director
Michael Ogg, Communications Director Larry Thomas, Planning & Zoning Director Brian Fogle, Assistant Fire Chief Mike
McCutcheon, Human Resources Director Kim Calabro, IT Director Roger Hardy, Financial Advisor Monica Harmon,
Assistant City Engineer Bill Dixon, City Attorney Darren Wilder, and Clerk & Treasurer's Office Representative Amanda
Oelze.
1 Councilperson Barbara Wilson made the motion to approve minutes from December 21, 2011, Engineering Coordinator

Rick Lovan seconded and passing unanimously.
Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan made the motion to approve payroll, Councilperson Barbara Wilson seconded, and
passing on a vote of 3 -0.

NEW BUSINESS
Property Casualty Insurance
Pepper Cooper brought before the board a renewal for property casualty insurance. It was originally going to be renewed {
in June, but it was requested to have it renewed on a calendar year basis which is January to December. There will be a
credit for the first 6 months that is already paid for The current rates stay the same. After further discussion
Councilperson Barbara Wilson made the motion to approve, second by Mayor Galligan, and passing on a vote of 2 -0 -1
ith Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan abstaining.
Interlocal Agreement
Mayor Galligan brought before the board a interlocal agreement for the old cafeteria building on Franklin Square between
the field house and the Jeffersonville High School. After further discussion, Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan made the
motion to approve, seconded by Councilperson Barbara Wilson and passing unanimously.
Flags on Light Poles

Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan brought before the board a request from the YMCA to hang flags on the light poles
down Veteran's Parkway on the Jeffersonville side. They will be up for 4 -6 weeks. The YMCA will supply flags and pay to
have them put up. Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan made the motion to approve, seconded by Councilperson Barbara
Wilson and passing unanimously.
