RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA, g
AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF THE MSRP APPLICATION TO THE INDIANA
OFFICE OF COMMUNITY AND RURAL AFFAIRS AND ADDRESSING RELATED
MATTERS
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana recognizes the need to stimulate
growth and to maintain a sound economy within its corporate limits; and
a WHEREAS, the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, authorizes the
Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs to provide grants to local units of government
for the elimination and prevention of blight; and

WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana has a designated Main Street Program and this
project is part of Jeffersonville Main Street, Inc.'s overall strategy; and
1 WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana has conducted or will conduct public hearings
prior to the submission of an application to the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, I
said public hearings to assess the housing, public facilities and economic needs of its low- and

moderate- income residents; g

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana
that:
1. The Mayor is authorized to prepare and submit an application for grant funding to address the
following: Streetscape improvements on West Chestnut Street (from Pearl Street to Spring Street)
including the following: road reconstruction, parking, sidewalks, drainage improvements, bio- i.
swale, street trees, lights, bicycle racks, banner arms, trash receptacles and benches, and to I
execute and administer a resultant grant including requisite general administration and project
management, contracts and agreements pursuant to regulations of the Indiana Office of
Community and Rural Affairs and the United States Department of Housing and Urban
Development.

2. The City of Jeffersonville, Indiana hereby commits the requisite local funds in the amount of t.
Two - Hundred Seventy -One Thousand Nine Hundred Thirty -Nine dollars ($271,939), in the form
of the following sources: Jeffersonville Urban Enterprise Zone Board — Cash on Hand
$128,619.50; Jeffersonville Redevelopment Commission Falls Landing Tax Increment
Financing District Fund $128,619.50; Community Foundation of Southern Indiana — City of
Jeffersonville Beautification Fund $14,700, as matching funds for said program, such t'
commitment to be contingent upon receipt of MSRP funding from the Indiana Office of
Community and Rural Affairs.
