HomeMy WebLinkAboutApril 2, 2012 Workshop JEFFERSONVILLE CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP Monday April 2nd, 2012 City Hall, Mayor's Conference Room The Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville met in a Workshop on Monday April 2 2012. Cou cll Vice President Connie Sellers called the meeting to order at 5:38 P.M., and on call roll members pres nt were: Council Vice President Connie Sellers, Councilpersons Mike Smith, Lisa Gill, Bryan Glover, Matt Owen, and Dennis Julius. Absent were: Councllpersons Zach Payne, Nathan Samuel. Also present w re: Nick Batta and Brian Fleck. Bernardln, Lochmueller and Associates came before the council to give a monthly progress update o the Hamburg Pike road and bridge rehabilitation and the 10 street widening project. Mr. Fleck announced that they are still working on the storm sewer at the Hamburg Pike project. He also state. that they started work In January 2011 and there is a completion date of November 2012. Mr. Fleck spoke about the four change orders to the contract as well as the closure of the street by Thomas Jefferson Elementary for a 7 day period. Mr. Fleck also stated that the street closure will affect the parking as well. Mr. Batta spoke before the council regarding the 10 street widening project that he states is 1.4 mil -s long and begin beyond 10 street and continues to end at Reeds Lane. The primary meaning of the project is to widen the road to accommodate a turning lane. An additional improvement will be the installation of a Storms Sewer System. The Project is a LPA project meaning that it is eligible of up to 80% of federal reimbursement. Mayor Moore voiced concerns about the time frame of the project completion due to funds of the project construction being primarily on the City's account. The 80/20 percentage match from KIPDA is for the design and land acquisition. Mr. Batta stated that at this poi t there is no money allocated for construction but there could be more possibly as the construction da e draws closer. Adjournment: No further business Councilperson Smith made the motion to ADJOURN, seconded b Councilperson Owen, passing on a vote of 9 -0. Meeting adjourned at 6:45. P.M.
