THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE APPROVING 1%ND
SUPPORTING THE SUBMISSION OF i% COMMUNITY
PL1%NNING FUND GR1%NT APPLICATION CONJOI~LY BY
THE JEFFERSONVILLE DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT
AND THE JEFFERSOEVILLE M~IN STREET, INC.
WHERE1%S, the city of Jeffersonville continues to focus on the
development of its downtown residential and commercial corridors;
WHEREAS, the Community Planning Fund is a grant program made
available through the Indiana Department of Commerce to fund
projects such as comprehensive downtown planning studies;
WHEREAS, the Jeffersonville Department of Redevelopment and
the Jeffersonville Main Street, Inc. wish to collaborate and to
develop a Strategic Action Plan for redevelopment activities in
downtown Jeffersonville; and,
WHEREAS, grant funds from the Community Planning Fund would
provide the necessary finanacial resources for this project to be
completed.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE THAT:
1. The Common Council approves the request made conjointly by
the Jeffersonville Department of Redevelopment and the
Jeffersonville Main Street, Inc to apply for grant funds through
the Community Planning Fund Program of the Indiana Department of
Commerce.
2. The Common Council further offers it support and best
wishes for this grant application and for the project itself,
recognizing the ultimate benefit that the Strategic Action Plan
would provide for future redevelopment efforts in the city of
Jeffersonville.
