NOVEMBER 14, 2011
The Jeffersonville Parks Authority met in regular session in the Mayor's Conference Room, City
Hall, Jeffersonville, Indiana, on November 14, 2011, at 6:00 PM. President Wayne Carter called
the meeting to order at 6:09 PM. Members present: Nathan Samuel, Connie Sellers, Barbara
Wilson and Wayne Carter. Absent: Mike Smith, Ed Zastawny and Keith Petz. Also present:
Parks Supt. Bob Manor, Attorney Mickey Weber and Parks Office Manager Hona McBride. All
stood for Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
The agenda was amended to add Item 8A Miscellaneous Projects. Member Samuel moved to
approve the agenda as amended, second by Member Sellers. Motion carried.
Member Wilson moved to approve the minutes of the October 10, 2011 meeting, second by
Member Sellers. Motion carried.
The claims list dated November 10, 2011, was presented for consideration. Motion by Member
Sellers, second by Member Wilson, to approve the claims list. Motion carried.
Public Comment: None
President Carter brought up several projects mentioned in the past that need to be discussed
again, namely, the large park project and Vissing Park, currently under construction. IIe stated
that this board needs to look at the Vissing Park project and determine where to go from here.
President Carter stated we have been advised that we need a full -time on -site construction
manager. Member Samuel stated he wants Vissing Park to move forward and to move quickly
while we still have good weather. Member Samuel advised that Mayor -elect Moore has seen the
plans for the park and been advised of the funds available for the park. Mayor -elect Moore has
indicated he is fully supportive of Vissing Park. Member Samuel moved that we move forward
with hiring a on -site consultant at Vissing Park. Matt Gallo stated that since Kovert Hawkins
drew the plans that they would bring the new construction manager up to speed with what's
happening and has happened at Vissing Park. The Mayor stated the new manager should work
with Kovert Hawkins on product and pricing. Member Samuel asked the plans for Vissing Park
until December 31 ". Mr. Gallo stated the footings needed to go in the ground for the shelter,
dugout, storage areas and restrooms. The motion was seconded by Member Sellers. Motion
carried. The Mayor will speak with City Engineer Andy Couch regarding the construction
manager.
President Carter welcomed Supt. Manor back after his recuperation from knee replacement
surgery.
Superintendents Report: Supt. Manor reported the Parks Department is decorating the
downtown area for the Christmas holidays. He wants everyone to take notice of the new
snowflakes along Spring Street. Work on the ice skating rink is underway.

Motion by Member Samuel to adjourn, second by Member Wilson. Motion carried. Meeting
adjournedd at 6:35 PM.
