HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-16-2011 MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA November 16, 2011 Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:42 a.m. and on the call of the roll those members present were Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan and Councilperson Barbara Wilson. Also present were: Vehicle Maintenance Director Bubby Vissing. Street Commissioner David Hosea, Communications Director Larry Thomas, Officer Don Grimes. Building Commissioner Russ Segraves, Planning & Zoning Director Brian Fogle, Fire Chief David Kaskie, City Engineer Andy Crouch, Emergency Planner Mindy Christian, Financial Advisor Monica Harmon, Assistant City Engineer Bill Dixon, City Attorney Darren Wilder, and Clerk & Treasurer's Office Representative Amanda Oelze. Councilperson Barbara Wilson made the motion to approve minutes from November 16. 2011, Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan seconded and passing unanimously. Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan made the motion to approve payroll, Councilperson Barbara Wilson seconded, and passing on a vote of 3 -0. OLD BUSINESS Speed Hump Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan brought back before the board a request from Virginia Peck regarding the speed hump on Forest Dr. Street Commissioner to look at it and put one speed hump on Forest Dr. Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan made the motion to approve and seconded by Councilperson Barbara Wilson, passing unanimously. NEW BUSINESS Request for Stop Sign A request for a stop sign at 9'" and Penn came before the board. After discussion Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan made the motion to deny the stop sign at 9 and Penn, seconded by Barbara Wilson and passing unanimously. Walnut Ridge Contract Building Commissioner Russ Segraves brought before the board a contract with Walnut Ridge for snow removal. The contract is the same as the previous years. Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan made the motion to approve, seconded by Barbara Wilson, and passing unanimously.
